Warga Venezuela Turun ke Jalan Akibat Krisis Listrik dan Air!

BERITA RAKYAT – Warga Venezuela kompak turun ke jalan untuk menyerukan protes kepada Presiden Nicolas Maduro, yang mereka tuduh sebagai biang keladi perusak ekonomi negara. Aksi ini dilakukan setelah berminggu-minggu terjadi pemadaman listrik hingga berkurangnya pasokan air bersih.

Tingkat inflasi meroket hingga ratusan ribu persen. Rakyat kekurangan makanan dan obat-obatan. Pemadaman listrik pun melumpuhkan aktivitas di Venezuela, sehingga rakyat terpaksa hidup dalam kegelapan selama berhari-hari.

Pemimpin oposisi, Juan Guaido, melakukan rapat di Caracas pada Sabtu (6/4) yang disebutnya sebagai gelombang baru protes definitif untuk menggulingkan Maduro.

Ribuan pendukung oposisi berkumpul di Caracas, distrik El Marques timur. Mereka mengatakan telah mengambil air dari saluran pipa yang tidak bersih atau aliran air dari Gunung Avila yang menghadap langsung ke Caracas.

“Kami harus singkirkan perampas ini (Maduro) dan kami tidak bisa memikirkan hal lain,” ucap Claudia Rueda, ibu rumah tangga berusia 53 tahun yang ikut dalam demonstrasi tersebut.

Pemadaman listrik dan berkurangnya pasokan air bersih membuat pemerintahan Maduro menutup kegiatan sekolah dan bisnis dalam beberapa waktu terakhir. Hal ini khususnya terjadi di kota-kota, seperti San Cristobal, Valencia, dan Maracay.

“Kami datang bukan hanya untuk meminta air dan listik. Kami datang untuk menuntut kebebasan dan demokrasi,” ujar Guaido di rapat umum Caracas, diikuti sorak-sorai warga.
