Jenis ini jadi yang paling umum terlihat bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Makan nasi hangat dengan berbagi lauk sudah jadi kebiasaan yang sulit dilepaskan. Beras ini sangat disukai karena memiliki tekstur lembut dan pulen.

Namun, gizi di nasi dari beras putih ternyata tak tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan jenis lainnya, lantaran proses penggilingan menghilangkan lapisan yang mengandung serat tinggi. Selain itu, gula yang terkandung di dalamnya juga besar, sehingga Anda disarankan mengurangi konsumsi nasi putih jika mengidap diabetes.
