BERITA RAKYAT _ Polisi menggagalkan peredaran jenis narkoba baru dari jaringan Banjarmasin-Jakarta. Narkoba yang diberi nama ‘yaba’ itu disamarkan dengan menggunakan kemasan teri Medan.
“Yaba ini sabu model baru mengandung metamfetamin. Bentuknya lebih kecil, ini dikemas di (makanan kemasan) teri Medan yang warna hijau itu,” kata Kasubdit I Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Calvijn Simanjuntak kepada wartawan di Mapolda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Jumat (18/1/2019).
Calvijn menyebut yaba adalah narkotika jenis baru yang masuk ke Indonesia dan sudah terkenal di Thailand. Tidak seperti sabu cair, yaba bentuknya seperti pil.
“Ada sekitar 20 ribu butir sabu yaba yang berhasil diamankan,” imbuhnya.
Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Argo Yuwono menyebut ada 11 tersangka yang diamankan oleh polisi terkait jaringan ini. Sindikat menyamarkan narkoba tersebut dalam kemasan teri Medan untuk mengelabui petugas.
“(Makanan kemasan) abon lele khas di Riau seperti ini tapi sama tersangka dalamnya diganti sabu sama dengan (bungkus makanan kemasan) teri Medan juga gitu di dalamnya ada sabu model baru,” kata Argo.
Dalam kasus itu, polisi menyita 6,5 kg sabu, 57.578 butir ekstasi, dan 15,19 gram ganja. Sebelas tersangka disangkakan Pasal 114 ayat (2) subsider Pasal 112 ayat (2) juncto Pasal 132 ayat (1) UU Nomor 35 Tahun 2009 tentang Narkotika dengan ancaman hukuman penjara seumur hidup.
